India Launches Operation Sindoor, Hits Terror Camps in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir

India carried out targeted missile strikes in Muzaffarabad and other areas, responding to a deadly attack in Kashmir blamed on Pakistan-backed militants.

Boom.

That was the sound heard around Muzaffarabad around 1.30 am on Wednesday, May 7 — and no, it wasn’t thunder. It was India launching Operation Sindoor, a high-precision, no-nonsense missile strike aimed squarely at terror camps across the border in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Why? Because of the brutal April 22nd attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, including tourists. That’s right — innocent travelers, gunned down in a senseless act that India squarely blames on The Resistance Front, a Lashkar-e-Taiba-linked group.

So India did what it does when it’s pushed too far.

Strike. Hard. Fast. Loud.

Nine targets. Zero Indian casualties. And the message? Crystal clear.

“We hit terror infrastructure, not civilians or military installations,” Indian defense officials told NDTV, making it clear this wasn’t about escalation — it was about justice.

According to Reuters, the strikes hit areas near Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bahawalpur — all known hotbeds for terror activity. Unfortunately, Pakistan reported three civilian deaths and a dozen injuries. Two mosques were reportedly damaged. That’s tragic — but India says it took “extreme care” to avoid non-combatant zones.

The operation was conducted entirely from Indian airspace. No line-crossing dogfights. Just pinpoint firepower. Think Tom Clancy meets Lakshya.

And the name? Sindoor — the traditional red mark of a married Hindu woman — chosen as a tribute to the lives lost in the Pahalgam attack, many of whom were on pilgrimage.

Across the border, Pakistan’s reaction was classic. Condemnation. Fighter jets scrambled. A pledge to retaliate “at a time and place of its choosing.” Yep, we’ve heard that line before.

Meanwhile, the internet is doing its thing. Hashtags like #OperationSindoor and #MuzaffarabadStrikes are trending. Twitter feels like a Uri: The Surgical Strike sequel. Only this time, it’s real.

The U.S., China, and other global players are urging calm — but everyone knows this isn’t the first time things have gotten heated in the neighborhood.

Is this the start of something bigger? Let’s not jump to conclusions.

For now, India’s made its point. Loudly.

And it’s called Operation Sindoor.
