Yup, it’s official — The Equalizer just got the axe. CBS has pulled the plug after five seasons, and fans are definitely feeling the sting.

Queen Latifah’s crime-fighting reign as Robyn McCall is coming to a close, with the series finale landing this Sunday (May 4). After years of delivering justice with style, the network dropped the news like a plot twist we didn’t ask for.

According to The Wrap, CBS confirmed the cancellation this week, thanking the cast and crew for five seasons of “dedicated storytelling.” Translation: they’re moving on, and so are we.

But don’t cry just yet. Queen Latifah took it like a total boss, hitting Instagram with a message for the fans:

“I’m beyond proud of what we did. I love this cast. I love our crew. I’ll be back kicking ass in something new real soon.”

We believe it. She’s not done.

The reboot, which first aired in 2021, reimagined the classic ‘80s series with Latifah serving vigilante realness every Sunday night. It started strong, even winning her an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.

But ratings started slipping. According to New York Post, viewership dropped below 6 million in its latest run — not ideal for a prime-time slot. Ouch.

There was talk of a spinoff with Bosch star Titus Welliver and Juani Feliz, but CBS quietly shelved that too. No vigilante universe expansion, folks. That dream’s gone like yesterday’s plot twist.

So what’s next for Queen L? Nobody knows for sure, but come on — it’s Queen Latifah. She doesn’t disappear; she reinvents.

For now, mark your calendar for May 4 and give The Equalizer one last round of applause. You know she earned it.
