MAMMOTH LAKES — Actor Haley Joel Osment was arrested on April 8, 2025, at Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort for public intoxication and alleged possession of a controlled substance. Authorities say Osment was skiing while intoxicated and acted aggressively, prompting ski patrol to intervene before police arrived.

According to local police, Osment was detained after an incident where he reportedly exhibited unruly behavior. Officers found a substance, which is suspected to be cocaine, though it is pending lab confirmation. No formal charges have been filed yet.

“We responded to a call about an unruly skier. After speaking with the individual and assessing the situation, we made the decision to place him under arrest,” a spokesperson for the Mammoth Lakes Police Department said.

Osment’s representatives have yet to comment on the arrest. The Mono County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case to determine next steps.

This incident adds to a series of personal challenges for Osment, who earlier this year lost his home in a California fire. He has also faced previous legal issues, including a 2006 DUI charge.
