
Tahawwur Rana Has Arrived… Plane Lands in Delhi, Security Tightened, Possible Arrest at Airport
26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Tahawwur Rana has arrived in India. He was brought from the US. A special flight carrying Tahawwur landed at Delhi’s Palam airport. Keeping this high profile terrorist in mind, security has been increased at the airport. A team of SWAT commandos has been deployed at the airport.

- Sources in the NIA said an official statement will be issued by the agency around 7 pm.
- Elaborate security arrangements have been made at Delhi airport. It is being claimed that he will be arrested at the airport.
- The agency will now seek Rana’s remand by producing him in the NIA court at Patiala House. However, it is not yet clear whether Rana will be produced in court or taken on remand through video conferencing.

NIA Will Make Arrest
Tahawwur Rana will first be arrested by the NIA in its case registered in connection with the 26/11 attacks. He will be taken to the NIA headquarters where he will undergo a medical test. After this, Rana will be produced in court and his remand will be sought.
Rana will be taken to the NIA headquarters amid heavy security from the Delhi airport. There will be multiple layers of security. He will be escorted by SWAT commandos of the Delhi Police Special Cell. Several Delhi Police vehicles will escort Rana’s convoy. Rana will go in a bulletproof vehicle from the airport.
174 people died in 26/11 attack
Tahawwur Rana is a Pakistani-born Canadian citizen and a close aide of US national David Coleman Headley, one of the main conspirators of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
On November 26, 2008, a group of 10 Pakistani terrorists attacked a railway station, two hotels and a Jewish centre in Mumbai. A total of 174 people, including six Americans, were killed in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The attack was carried out by 10 Pakistani terrorists. In November 2012, Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab was hanged to death in Pune’s Yerwada Jail.
India had been trying to extradite Rana for several years as he has links with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Headley. Rana used all the legal options available in the US, but he received a setback from everywhere.
Trump had Announced
At a press conference with Prime Minister Modi at White House in February, US President Donald Trump had announced that his administration had approved the extradition of Rana, the world’s most wanted man, to face justice in India.
