Samsung's latest One UI 7 update has finally arrived for older Galaxy devices. After this update, Samsung Galaxy phones are going to get many exciting features, improvements and integrations related to AI. Here's how to update your phone:

After months of delays, Samsung’s latest One UI 7 update has finally arrived for older Galaxy devices, including last year’s flagship Galaxy S24 lineup and the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold series. Running on Android 15 operating system, this new update brings with it many new AI features and UI to make it smoother.

After this update, Samsung is bringing many exciting features, improvements and integrations related to AI to Galaxy phones. Here’s how you can update your smartphone to the latest One UI 7.

Samsung One UI 7 release timeline

Samsung is rolling out its new One UI 7 today, April 7. The company will first bring the update to the Galaxy S24 series and then to other devices. The update will be released depending on the region and device model, so you’ll have to wait a bit if your device is a Galaxy S24 or lower.

These Samsung phones will get One UI 7 update

  • Galaxy S24, S24 +, and S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24 FE
  • Galaxy S23, S23 +, and S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy S23 FE
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab S9 series

As you can see in the list, the mid-range Galaxy device is not mentioned, so if you are using the Galaxy F, M, and A series, you will have to wait a bit for the update. The recently launched Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 are also not mentioned in the list.

How to update your phone with Samsung One UI 7.

First of all, check if your device is eligible for Samsung One UI 7.

Step 1: Before starting the download, make sure that your device is connected to your Wi-Fi and the phone’s battery is charged to 50%.

Step 2: To download the latest Samsung One UI 7, you first need to go to your handset’s settings.

Step 3: Then click on the Software option.

Step 4: Now, go to the update.

Step 5: Here, you will see the option to download and install, tap on it. After this, your device will start updating.

After One UI 7, you will get these features

One UI 7 includes the new Now Bar, which provides real-time updates directly on the lock screen. For example, you can see what song is playing on your Galaxy Buds or track the progress of your morning run without unlocking your phone. Apart from this, new AI-powered features have been introduced in One UI 7.

The update will allow users to customize the simple home screen, redesigned One UI widgets, and lock screen.
Now the Now Bar lock screen will provide the most important real-time updates. With Galaxy AI, users can simplify their everyday tasks, reducing the need to switch between apps.

If a user is watching a video, they can save it as a GIF file by swiping the edge panel and clicking the ‘AI Select’ icon.
After the One UI 7 update, users will get Audio Eraser 6, which will remove the background sound in the video.
Galaxy AI features such as Writing Assist and Call Transcripts will also be included in it, which will support 20 languages. There is also a new USB Protection feature for added security.
