New Delhi: The price of LPG Gas Cylinder has been increased by Rs 50 per cylinder. This was announced by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

What did the minister say about the price hike?

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said that the price of LPG will be increased by Rs 50 per cylinder. From Rs 500, it will go up to Rs 550 (for PMUY beneficiaries) and for others it will go up from Rs 803 to Rs 853.

This is a step that we will review as we go forward. We review it every 2-3 weeks. Therefore, the burden of the increase in excise duty that you have seen will not fall on consumers on petrol and diesel. That excise duty hike is aimed at compensating the oil marketing companies for the Rs 43,000 crore that they have lost on the gas part.’

Recently, the price of commercial gas cylinders was reduced.

Recently, oil marketing companies (OMCs) had reduced the price of LPG cylinders. In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was cut by Rs 41. After this, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder in Delhi had gone up to Rs 1762. The new prices were implemented from April 1, 2025. Earlier, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi was Rs 180.
