Trump Refuses to Support Iran Strike, Says Talks Are Too Late

Trump dodges on whether the U.S. should strike Iran, saying only that “it’s a little bit late to be talking,” during a Fox News interview.

Trump Refuses To Support Iran Strike, Says Talks Are Too Late

President Donald Trump has weighed in on the escalating Israel-Iran crisis—but don’t expect any fireworks from him just yet.

Speaking on Monday night, Trump refused to say whether he thinks the U.S. should strike Iran amid rising tensions in the Middle East. When pressed, he deflected with a now-viral line: “It’s a little bit late to be talking.”

The comments, aired during a sit-down with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, come as fears grow that the Israel-Iran conflict could drag in more global powers. But Trump? He’s keeping his cards close to the chest.

“A lot of people are talking. I think it’s a little bit late to be talking,” Trump told Fox News.

The former president didn’t elaborate on what exactly he meant—was it too late diplomatically? Too late militarily? No follow-up, just the soundbite, which has already sparked a swirl of speculation on social media.

Trump has never been shy about foreign policy takes. But on this, he’s more cryptic than candid. And that silence is loud—especially as President Biden faces mounting pressure to show strength in the region.

Iran and Israel have been locked in a series of high-stakes back-and-forths, with drone strikes, cyberattacks, and proxy tensions heating up over the past several weeks. While Biden has called for restraint, others in Washington are pushing for a more forceful approach.

But Trump’s not joining that chorus—for now.

His critics say he’s dodging responsibility. His supporters say he’s being strategic. Either way, he’s not giving away much.

And in true Trump fashion, he managed to make it all sound like something everyone else should’ve already figured out.

“You should have handled this a long time ago,” he said, without specifying who “you” actually is.

As the Middle East teeters, Trump’s refusal to draw a red line—let alone comment on one—adds yet another layer of uncertainty to an already volatile situation.

Whether it’s hesitation, strategy, or just a case of keeping the spotlight on himself, one thing’s clear: Trump’s playing the long game. And for now, he’s not giving anyone a preview of the next move.
