The family of Karmelo Anthony — nope, not the NBA star, but a 17-year-old high schooler from Frisco — has raked in over $515,000 online after he was charged with fatally stabbing another teen during a track meet.

You read that right. Over half a mil raised on GiveSendGo in what feels like record time — all to fund Anthony’s legal team, security, and apparently some serious relocation goals.

This all went down on April 2 at Kuykendall Stadium. According to reports, Karmelo, a student at Centennial High, was chilling in the Memorial High bleachers when 17-year-old Austin Metcalf allegedly told him to move. Words were exchanged. Things escalated. And in moments, Metcalf was stabbed once in the chest.

Karmelo says he was defending himself. Prosecutors aren’t buying it.
