Thunder Strikes Hard: Okc Obliterates Grizzlies In Wild Game 1 Beatdown!
Whoa. If you blinked, you missed it — and honestly, Memphis probably wishes they had.
The Oklahoma City Thunder didn’t just show up for Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs… they detonated. The Memphis Grizzlies? Left in the dust, wondering what just hit ‘em.
Final score? 131 to 80. That’s a 51-point smackdown — one of the biggest playoff blowouts in NBA history. And yes, that’s the largest margin ever in a Game 1. Welcome to the playoffs, y’all.
Aaron Wiggins came off the bench and lit it up like he was auditioning for “The Sixth Man 2” — dropping 21 points and looking smooth while doing it. Jalen Williams wasn’t far behind with 20. And Chet Holmgren? Man’s a walking double-double. He dropped 19 points and snagged 10 boards like it was light work.
And get this — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had an “off” night (by Shai standards) with only 15 points… and OKC still crushed. His 72-game streak of 20+ points ended, but who even noticed with the scoreboard looking like a video game glitch?
As for the Grizzlies? Brutal. Just brutal. Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. combined for an ugly 8-of-30 shooting night. Yikes. Even Marvin Bagley III and Ja’s 17 points each couldn’t save ‘em.
To make it worse? The Thunder’s defense was on full lockdown. Memphis shot just 17.6% from beyond the arc and coughed up 24 turnovers. OKC turned that sloppiness into easy buckets — 24 points off turnovers, to be exact.
And if this felt a little personal… it kinda was. Don’t forget, OKC once took a historic 73-point L from the Grizzlies back in 2021. Last night? Payback, baby.
Game 2’s going down Tuesday, April 22 — same court, same energy? We’ll see. But if you’re Memphis, you better come correct. Otherwise, it’s gonna be a quick series.
