It was supposed to be a regular Wednesday evening at Oxford Valley Mall in Langhorne, Pennsylvania—until the calm shattered around 5:30 p.m.
A man opened fire inside the shopping center, hitting one person and sending dozens running for cover.
The gunfire erupted on the lower level near Dynasty Sports & Framing, according to CBS Philadelphia. Police say it wasn’t random—this was personal.
“We believe this was a targeted shooting,” Middletown Township Police Lt. Stephen Forman told reporters at the scene. “The suspect and victim appear to know each other.”
That didn’t make it any less terrifying for shoppers who suddenly found themselves ducking behind counters and sprinting out exits.
“I just grabbed my daughter and ran,” said one woman, who had been browsing nearby. “It felt like a movie—only way too real.”
The victim, whose identity hasn’t been released, was rushed to a nearby hospital. Their condition remains unknown.
Meanwhile, the shooter is still out there. Police haven’t released a name or description yet, but they’re reviewing mall surveillance footage and urging anyone with info to come forward.
“We want the public to know this was not an active shooter situation,” Lt. Forman added. “There is no ongoing threat to the community.”
Stores closed early, and the mall was cleared out as officers swarmed the scene. Some employees didn’t even have time to lock their registers.
One witness told 6ABC they saw officers with rifles moving quickly through the hallways, “like something out of ‘SWAT’.”
The investigation is still active, and while this wasn’t a mass shooting, it was a shocking reminder of how quickly violence can erupt—anywhere.
Bucks County residents have been asked to stay alert and report anything suspicious. So far, the suspect hasn’t been found.
