Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, has been hospitalized after reportedly overdosing near Joshua Tree, California.
According to Page Six, the 48-year-old was found unresponsive early Saturday morning, June 14, and was rushed to a nearby hospital. He survived, but just barely.
“He’s lucky to be alive,” one source close to the situation told Page Six. The dramatic turn comes amid a whirlwind of personal and legal trouble for Allman, who’s been battling addiction since childhood.
Cher’s rep hasn’t commented publicly yet, but the Page Six report suggests she’s “doing everything she can” to help him recover.
This latest scare adds another chapter to Elijah’s long and very public battle with drugs. Back in 2014, he told Entertainment Tonight that he began using heroin at just 11 years old and admitted he had “some close calls.”
His relationship with Cher has also made headlines over the past year. In December 2023, the pop icon filed for a conservatorship, citing his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues. According to court documents, Cher said she was deeply worried that Elijah couldn’t manage his finances or care for himself.
The conservatorship battle was dropped in September 2024 after both sides agreed to mediation.
But the drama didn’t stop there. In April 2025, Elijah’s estranged wife, singer Marieangela King, filed for divorce after nearly a decade of marriage. She’s asking for $6,000 a month in spousal support.
Just weeks before the overdose, in May, Elijah was seen looking unwell outside the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. According to Page Six, he appeared sweaty, confused, and disoriented — wearing torn clothes and struggling to stand.
This hospitalization might have been the breaking point. As Page Six puts it, Elijah is “now getting the help he needs.” His condition remains unclear, but sources close to the family say he’s currently being treated and monitored.
It’s been a tough ride for Elijah, who grew up in the shadow of celebrity as the son of Cher and the late rock star Gregg Allman. He’s also known for his own music career with the industrial metal band Deadsy.
Whether this moment marks a turning point remains to be seen. For now, the focus is on recovery — and survival.
