Shakira And Jason Aldean Cancel Fenway Park Concerts Due To Unforeseen Issues
Fans were set to sing. Fenway Park was ready. But now? Silence.
Concerts featuring global superstar Shakira and country heavyweights Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn have been abruptly canceled, with no explanation beyond the dreaded phrase: “unforeseen circumstances.”
Live Nation, the event promoter, pulled the plug just days before showtime. Shakira was set to light up the stage on Thursday, May 29. Aldean and Brooks & Dunn were billed for Friday, May 30.
In a brief statement shared by NBC Boston, organizers confirmed the cancellations and apologized for the disruption. Full refunds will be available at the original point of purchase.
No mention was made of rescheduling or future Boston dates.
The move is especially frustrating for Shakira fans, as this concert was expected to kick off her long-awaited “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” tour. It would have been her first U.S. stadium show in years.
And for country lovers, the loss of Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn in one swoop feels like a double whammy—less two-step, more stop-and-stare-at-your-canceled-ticket.
If you’re holding tickets, check with your ticket provider for refund details. And maybe keep an eye on your inbox… just in case.
