Candace Parker On Caitlin Clark’s Tough Wnba Start: “star Players Aren’t Treated Fairly”
Candace Parker isn’t sugarcoating it—being a WNBA star comes with bruises.
In a quick chat with TMZ Sports, the three-time WNBA champ weighed in on the rough treatment Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has been receiving on the court.
“Star players aren’t ever treated fairly,” Parker told TMZ, reflecting on the hard fouls Clark has faced this season. The veteran forward made it clear—when you’re seen as the face of the league, opponents don’t exactly roll out the red carpet.

Clark, who’s currently nursing a quad injury and is expected to be out for a couple of weeks, has been at the centre of a heated debate over how rookies—especially high-profile ones—are defended in the league.
Still, Parker had nothing but praise for the 22-year-old. She highlighted Clark’s already-impressive stat line, especially her triple-doubles, which match Parker’s own record of three. “It’s awesome. It’s great,” Parker said. “She has so many more years to come of greatness.”
