Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson Receive 9-Minute Ovation for 'Die My Love' at Cannes

Hollywood just got extra spicy. Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson just dropped a cinematic bombshell at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival — and the crowd went wild.

Their new film Die My Love had its world premiere, and let’s just say… nine-minute standing ovation. Yeah, NINE. According to People, the audience was on their feet for nearly a full Billie Eilish song, cheering and clapping like it was the Super Bowl halftime show.

Directed by indie darling Lynne Ramsay (You Were Never Really Here), the film is a twisted, emotional deep-dive into postpartum depression, set in rural Montana. J-Law plays Grace — a new mom slowly unraveling at the seams. And RPattz? He’s her husband, Jackson, trying to keep it all together. Spoiler alert: He can’t.

The script’s based on Ariana Harwicz’s 2017 novel, and critics are already whispering Oscar buzz for Lawrence. The BBC called her performance “better than ever” and a “searing portrait of motherhood.” Even The Wrap couldn’t stop gushing, calling it a “haunting domestic horror.”

LaKeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek, and Nick Nolte round out the cast. Yes, you read that right — Nick Nolte.

Now, it’s not all roses and champagne. The Times threw a little shade, calling the film “incoherent and overwrought.” But hey, even Beyoncé’s got haters.

Streaming giant Mubi scooped up the distribution rights faster than you can say “Palme d’Or.” No word yet on the official release date, but it’s coming — and if the Cannes buzz is any clue, this one’s gonna hit hard.

So yeah, J-Law and RPattz are back and they’re not playing. If Die My Love is anything to go by, they’re out to leave a serious mark in 2025.
