Fortnite Returns To Iphone After Court Ruling Against Apple In App Store Battle
Fortnite Is BACK on iOS
You read that right — Fortnite is making its epic comeback to the iPhone!
After a years-long beef with Apple that had gamers stuck on the sidelines, a federal judge just hit Apple with a legal smackdown that’s changing the game — literally.
U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers ruled Apple broke a 2021 court order by blocking developers from steering users to outside payment options. Translation? Apple was playing dirty, and the court wasn’t having it.
Apple’s been slammed for its so-called “anti-steering” policies — like charging developers a wild 27% fee just for linking to outside purchases. Judge Rogers called it a “blatant” violation, even referring Apple to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for possible criminal contempt. Yikes.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney didn’t waste a second. He jumped on X (Twitter) faster than a Victory Royale to say Fortnite is coming back to iOS in the U.S. next week.
We will return Fortnite to the US iOS App Store next week.
Epic puts forth a peace proposal: If Apple extends the court’s friction-free, Apple-tax-free framework worldwide, we’ll return Fortnite to the App Store worldwide and drop current and future litigation on the topic. https://t.co/bIRTePm0Tv

“If Apple applies the ruling globally, we’ll drop all litigation,” Sweeney said, basically challenging Apple to stop acting like the final boss of mobile gaming.
Apple says it’ll comply (for now) but is already planning to appeal. Because of course they are.
This ruling? Big deal. It cracks open Apple’s tightly sealed App Store and gives devs some long-overdue breathing room. And for you? It means more Fortnite, more freedom, and fewer hoops to jump through.
