Top Gun Maverick Director Joseph Kosinski To Reboot Miami Vice With Nightcrawler Writer
Hold onto your pastel blazers and crank up the Phil Collins because Miami Vice is coming back and it’s gonna be 🔥.
Joseph Kosinski — yeah, the guy who made Top Gun: Maverick fly so high it basically broke the sound barrier — is officially taking charge of a brand new Miami Vice movie.
And guess what This isn’t just a cash grab reboot with zero soul Nah Kosinski is teaming up with Dan freaking Gilroy — the dude behind Nightcrawler — to make sure this thing has some serious heat.
Kosinski has been straight up killing it with movies like Tron Legacy and Oblivion so if anyone can slide Crockett and Tubbs into the 2020s with style and swagger it’s him.
For the young bloods out there Miami Vice was the ultimate 80s cop show with fast boats fast cars and faster suits Think neon lights Ray-Bans and crime lords who looked like they stepped out of a fashion magazine.
The show already hit the big screen once back in 2006 thanks to Michael Mann but let’s be real it didn’t exactly leave fans doing backflips Colin Farrell later even admitted it was more about vibes than story saying it was like one long moody music video.
This time though with Kosinski and Gilroy calling the shots expect a flick that’s got both the drip and the drama.
No word yet on who’s slipping into those iconic loafers but cmon can we get Pedro Pascal and Jonathan Majors on the phone like yesterday.
Until then we’ll be here patiently blasting In The Air Tonight and practicing our slow motion walk along the beach because vibes matter people.
Miami is about to get its groove back and we are so here for it.
