Avengers: Age Of Ultron Turns 10 – Celebrating A Decade Of Epic Mcu Action

Whoa — has it really been a decade since Ultron tried to wipe us all out?

Yep, believe it or not, Avengers: Age of Ultron dropped ten years ago TODAY — April 23, 2015 — and fans are losing their collective minds all over again. Twitter (sorry, X) is full of throwback clips, “lift-the-hammer” memes, and emotional GIFs of Vision being born like MCU Jesus. It’s giving full-on nostalgia overload.

Released as the mega follow-up to The Avengers (2012), this flick threw us head-first into chaos. Tony Stark (aka Iron Man, aka King of Questionable AI Choices) tried to “put a suit of armor around the world”… and accidentally gave us Ultron — a killer robot with sass, voiced by James Spader like he’s reading Shakespeare in a blender.

According to report, Age of Ultron hauled in a massive $1.4 billion worldwide. Not bad for a movie where half the team argues in a farmhouse. It also gave us Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver (RIP, Pietro), Vision, and that iconic party scene where the squad tries to lift Thor’s hammer. Still gold.

Fun fact: this is the movie where Cap actually budged Mjolnir. Don’t @ us.

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, director Joss Whedon called it one of the most difficult films of his career — no surprise, considering he was juggling an entire superhero circus. But love it or not, this movie laid the groundwork for Infinity War, Endgame, and that whole we-don’t-feel-so-good dusting mess.

Also, how did we sleep on Ultron’s one-liners? Dude was basically Skynet with a philosophy degree.

So if you’re feeling old today, you’re not alone. But hey — celebrate the anniversary by rewatching the movie, quoting Hawkeye’s “the city is flying” speech, and appreciating just how far the MCU has come since Tony built a murderbot in his digital basement.

Ten years later, Ultron still slaps. Just don’t let him near the internet.
