KANSAS CITY, MO — A Tesla dealership in Missouri just made headlines for all the wrong reasons—and it wasn’t about a new car release. This time, it’s about a fire, a Molotov cocktail, and a 19-year-old student who may have taken things way too far.

So here’s the deal. Over in Kansas City, a Tesla dealership went up in flames, and not because of an electrical issue or battery mishap. Nope—this one was reportedly caused by a Molotov cocktail.

Authorities say Owen McIntire, a 19-year-old college student from Parkville, Missouri, is the guy behind it. He’s currently attending college in Boston but was home for spring break. Instead of chilling with friends or binge-watching Netflix, he allegedly threw a homemade firebomb into a Tesla dealership. Wild, right?

The result? Two brand-new Tesla Cybertrucks—those futuristic-looking electric beasts—got completely torched. And considering each of those trucks costs over $100,000, we’re talking about some serious damage here. On top of that, two charging stations were also damaged. Not a cheap night, to say the least.

Now, how’d they catch him? According to investigators, it didn’t take long. Surveillance footage and witness statements pointed right at McIntire. The feds didn’t waste time either—he was slapped with federal charges, including unlawful possession of an unregistered destructive device and malicious damage by fire to property used in interstate commerce. Basically, he’s in big trouble.

This isn’t just some isolated case, either. Tesla’s been getting hit lately. There have been similar attacks in places like Las Vegas, Texas, Illinois, and South Carolina. It’s kind of starting to look like a pattern. Whether it’s because of anti-Tesla sentiment, random acts of destruction, or something deeper—well, that part’s still unclear. But the authorities are treating it seriously.

Here’s the thing—no matter how you feel about Elon Musk or Teslas, setting stuff on fire isn’t exactly the way to make a point. And with federal agents involved, this is more than just a slap on the wrist kind of situation. If convicted, McIntire could be looking at some pretty heavy jail time.

So, while we don’t know if this was some personal vendetta, a statement, or just a really bad decision, one thing’s for sure—it’s a story that’s sparking a lot of conversation.
