Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner may be going strong, but things got a little awkward at Coachella over the weekend — and it had nothing to do with the music.
Chalamet, 29, was noticeably absent from Travis Scott’s highly anticipated headlining set, even though Jenner and their daughter Stormi were backstage supporting Scott, who’s also Stormi’s father. According to Cosmopolitan, the actor skipped the performance on purpose to avoid what sources called a “weird and awkward” moment with the rapper. Chalamet and Scott reportedly haven’t met, and the vibe was tense enough that the Dune star decided to steer clear.
Despite that, Jenner and Chalamet were spotted enjoying the rest of the festival together. Photos and videos showed the couple cozying up during Charli XCX’s performance and hanging out with friends, putting on a united front amid the family dynamics.
Adding more buzz to the weekend, News18 reported that Chalamet might be planning to propose to Jenner soon. The actor has allegedly picked out a $300,000 custom engagement ring featuring over 150 diamonds and could be popping the question in Paris or the French Riviera. Though neither of them has confirmed the rumors, people close to the couple say he’s serious about their future.
While there’s been no public drama between Chalamet and Scott, the Coachella maneuvering shows the situation’s still delicate. But if the engagement rumors are true, things could be heading for a major shift soon.
