Marvel Reveals Julia Garner As Silver Surfer In New Fantastic Four Trailer

LOS ANGELES — Marvel Studios released the first trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps, confirming Julia Garner will play the Silver Surfer. The trailer shows Garner’s character, Shalla-Bal, warning the team about Galactus, a cosmic threat approaching Earth.

The cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. The film is set for release on July 25, 2025.

Director Matt Shakman said Galactus will appear through practical effects rather than CGI. “We wanted something that felt grounded. You’ll see the performance, not just pixels,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

The trailer also reveals that Sue Storm is pregnant, hinting at a more personal storyline for the team.

According to Marvel, the film will tie into future MCU entries, including Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
