The State Department has expressed concern that terrorists may target embassies, international organizations, and Syrian public institutions in the capital, Damascus.
The United States has warned that a terrorist attack could occur in the country on Eid day. It has advised its citizens to leave Syria and return to their home country. This warning includes information on possible methods of attack, which may involve individual assailants, lethal weapons, and explosive devices. There are concerns that terrorists may also attempt to abduct civilians.

The U.S. government has issued a Level 4 travel advisory urging its citizens to leave Syria immediately. The U.S. Embassy in Syria‘s capital Damascus is closed in 2012. Because of which the US cannot provide emergency help to its citizens in Syria. The Czech Republic is acting as the representative country on behalf of the US to protect US interests in Syria.
The US State Department has issued emergency numbers and emails to help its citizens living in Syria. American citizens in difficulty can contact the U.S. Interests Section at the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
Let me tell you, a civil war has been ongoing in Syria for the past 13 years. In December last year, the Islamic group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) overthrew Bashar al-Assad’s power, thus ending the family’s rule in the country that lasted over 50 years. Following this, former Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) leader Ahmad al-Shara was declared the interim president of the country.
