Lust Stories Franchise to Move Forward with Kiran Rao and Shakun at the Helm

While franchise films are becoming increasingly common in theatrical releases, digital platforms are not far behind in this trend.

In 2018, the anthology film Lust Stories, which comprised four different stories, was released. Continuing the franchise, Lust Stories 2 was released in 2023. Both films in the franchise featured distinct stories directed by different filmmakers.

The first Lust Stories was directed by Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, and Dibakar Banerjee, whereas Lust Stories 2 was helmed by R. Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Amit Sharma, and Sujoy Ghosh. Each of these directors is known for their unique storytelling styles.

According to reports, the Lust Stories franchise is expected to move forward under the direction of Kiran Rao, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Shakun Batra.

This anthology series, which explores female sexuality through diverse narratives, will see its third installment (Lust Stories 3) produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Ashi Dua.

However, no official confirmation has been made yet. Discussions are currently underway regarding the film’s storyline and cast. This time, the franchise aims to feature major Bollywood stars.
