Sunny Deol to Appear in a Non-Action Avatar After ‘Jatt’

Following the massive success of Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, Sunny Deol’s next film, Jatt, is set to release next month, where he will once again be seen in an action-packed role. Apart from this, the actor has another film in the pipeline, tentatively titled Safar. Reports suggest that in director Shashank Udapurkar’s family drama, Sunny will be seen in a role different from his usual action image. Given the theme of the film, the makers are considering an OTT release instead of a theatrical release.

Apart from Sunny, the film also features Simran Bagga and Darshan Jariwala in key roles. The shooting of this film was completed last year. Producer Vishal Rana is currently in talks with several streaming platforms for its release. According to sources, after the success of Gadar 2, Sunny signed several action films, but Safar is a departure from that image.

The film revolves around a middle-aged family man who discovers that helping others brings true happiness, leading him to understand the real meaning of life. When Vishal and Shashank approached him with the story, he liked it and agreed to do it, even though he knew it was not the kind of film his fans usually expect from him.
