
JP Schwieterman, best known for Good Burger, has passed away at 52.
Jan (JP) Schwieterman, best known for his role as Kurt Bozwell in the 1997 hit film Good Burger, passed away at the age of 52 on February 28, 2025. His family confirmed that he had been battling stage 4 cancer.
JP Schwieterman was born on September 30, 1972, in Bluffton, Indiana. After high school, he moved to California to pursue a career in acting. His role in Good Burger brought him recognition, but he also appeared in several other TV shows and films. He acted in ER, NightMan, and Felicity and starred in films such as Warlock III: The End of Innocence and American Intellectuals.
After his 2000 film Fallen Arches, he took a seven-year break from acting and made his final on-screen appearance in the 2007 film Along the Way. Following this, he stepped away from the entertainment industry and focused on his personal life.
JP was passionate about traveling, photography, painting, and martial arts. Additionally, he was an avid Dungeons & Dragons player. His family has requested that those wishing to pay tribute make donations to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas.
Did Not Appear in Good Burger 2
In November 2023, Good Burger 2 was released, featuring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reprising their original roles, but JP Schwieterman did not return for the sequel. The film received mixed reviews from audiences but was appreciated for reviving nostalgia from the 1990s.
JP Schwieterman’s passing is a great loss to the entertainment industry. His fans and fellow actors will always remember him for his memorable performances and versatile talent.
