A Virtual Information Display Kiosk at Delhi Airport helps travelers with real-time flight updates and navigation guidance.
New Delhi – First-time air travelers often face several challenges, including finding the boarding gate, baggage handling, and navigating entry and exit points at the airport. Many passengers even need to hire porters for assistance.
Determining the right gate for security checks and where to present the boarding pass can be quite confusing. To address these concerns, a digital guide has now been introduced for passengers at Delhi Airport.
A Virtual Information Display Kiosk has been installed to provide personalized assistance at every step. By simply scanning their boarding pass on the kiosk screen, passengers can instantly receive real-time flight updates, directions to entry gates, and even download an airport map. This feature will be particularly beneficial for first-time travelers, offering them essential guidance at the touch of a button.
According to Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the airport is being upgraded to meet future demands. The kiosk is not just a machine but a companion for passengers, transforming their airport experience. It is especially useful for those traveling by air for the first time, as it provides real-time boarding updates and essential travel information.
In addition, if a passenger has any queries, the kiosk can answer them instantly. It even features a video call option, enabling immediate connection with a customer service agent. The kiosk will also assist travelers in finding retail outlets and reaching the baggage claim area.
To enhance passenger convenience, Delhi Airport has installed these Virtual Information Display Kiosks at Terminals 1 and 3, ensuring immediate assistance. Additionally, these kiosks will soon be available in multiple languages to cater to a wider audience.
Meanwhile, the proposed Air Train project at Delhi Airport has been delayed once again. The deadline for submitting the Expression of Interest (EOI) has been extended by another month, with a new submission deadline set for April 16.
Companies interested in the project can submit their documents starting next month. Once operational, the Air Train will significantly ease transit travel for passengers, allowing them to cover the 7-kilometer distance between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 efficiently.
