4G Mobile Service in Tekalgudem
In Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, the village of Tekalgudem received 4G mobile service on the occasion of Holi. BSNL had been working for several months to set up a tower in this village, located on the border of Bijapur and Sukma districts. Once a stronghold of Naxalites, this village saw the establishment of a security forces camp nearly a year ago. Under the Niyad Nellanar (Your Good Village) scheme, several development projects have been initiated, including communication services.

Four kilometers from Tekalgudem lies Purthi, the village of Naxal commander Hidma, where a private company has already set up a mobile tower. Tekalgudem is located 110 kilometers from Sukma district headquarters and 76 kilometers from Bijapur headquarters. This is the same village where, four years ago, 22 security personnel were martyred in a Naxalite attack. Even during preparations to establish a security camp, two security personnel were lost in an encounter with Naxalites.
With the launch of 4G services in Tekalgudem, nearby villages such as Timapuram, Phulsam Para, Janguda, Aliguda, and Binguda, located within a 3-4 kilometer radius, will also benefit. On March 13, with the inauguration of the mobile tower, BSNL organized a marketing fair, where information about BSNL services was provided, and new 4G SIM cards were distributed.
